is run by me,
Oliver Pearson.

I’ve been a derivatives & commodities lawyer for the last 20 years, working at Goldman Sachs and two Magic Circle law firms. I am passionate about helping my clients to achieve their commercial objectives through informed, context-driven legal guidance.

Education and Private Practice

My legal career began shortly after graduating from Cambridge University, where I studied Law as an undergraduate. In 2005, I joined Linklaters in London, where I spent seven formative years specializing in derivatives and structured products. During this period, I had the privilege of working alongside outstanding lawyers and mentors across the firm’s London, New York, and Singapore offices, developing extensive expertise in global financial markets.

Goldman Sachs In-house Counsel

In 2010, I transitioned to an in-house role at Goldman Sachs in Singapore, serving as Executive Director & Senior Counsel supporting the firm’s Global Markets & Commodities business across the Asia-Pacific region. My ten-year tenure at Goldman Sachs further expanded my experience and provided deep insights into physical commodities trading, complex derivatives, regulatory frameworks, and structured finance transactions. In 2015, I was appointed to the firm’s global people development committee, underscoring my commitment to excellence, collaboration, and deep engagement with internal stakeholders.

Establishing Iter Consulting

After leaving Goldman Sachs in 2020, I briefly returned to private practice before establishing Iter Consulting. My vision for Iter Consulting was clear—to combine the expertise of a top-tier external counsel with the dedicated approach of an in-house lawyer, deeply committed to understanding the specific needs, culture, and individuals within each institution. With nearly two decades of legal experience, Iter Consulting provides sophisticated, tailored in-house legal consulting services focused on global markets, derivatives, physical commodities and structured finance.

Five years on, I am pleased with the positive impact Iter Consulting has had, developing deep relationships with my clients and assisting them to navigate complex legal challenges.
